Unfortunately over time, the inevitable weeds set in, moss fills the joints and crevices and a layer of general dirt and grime cover the surface. Our Driveway Cleaning / Block Paving process can get it back to looking like new.

Sterling Cleaning use industrial pressure washers fitted with high pressure cleaning attachments to remove all unsightly moss / algae / weeds and dirt. We then apply new kiln dried sand to stabilise the area and leave the block paved area looking – and functioning like new. We use the appropriate tools & methods to avoid damaging the surface of any paving.

How We Achieve These Results

Kill Weeds – we apply a high strength weed-killer to block paving 7-10 days before we are due to clean the area. This allows the chemical to penetrate into the roots of the weeds and kill them.

Clean Paved Area – we use an industrial pressure washer with a high flow rate, combined with various high pressure attachments to blast away all weeds, algae, dirt and grime.

Clean Affected Areas – after pressure washing the block paving, we rinse down the entire area with clean water, including any areas that have been affected by over spray, such as walls and fences. We also ensure that any windows that have been affected with dirty water are properly cleaned.

Apply Moss Inhibitor – after the paving is clean, we apply a moss inhibitor. Even though all of the moss will have been removed, moss spores and organic matter remain on the surface. The inhibitor will kill any remaining moss spores / algae / lichen and organic matter and brighten the paving even further and also keep it cleaner for longer.

Re-sand Joints – the block paving is allowed to dry before we return to apply the new kiln dried sand to the paved area. The new sand is brushed into the joints, stabilising the paved area. We then remove any excess sand from the surface leaving the area in its original condition. The new sand is normally applied the following day, after allowing the newly cleaned area to dry.
